My toddler dis week

16-month-old : Week-2

Just as a reminder~~

Don't forget to watch what you say and do around your child: Imitation is one of the ways toddlers learn socially acceptable behavior.

Perihal Kerja

Warning : An emo entry.

1. Being scolded by your bos = normal
2. Being scolded because of your fault = acceptable
3. Being scolded because of others 'kerenah' = unacceptable

I HATE the third one. Well, whether you accept it or not that's reality. I don't even bother when the big bos get angry because I am just a 'gurkha' not a decision maker yet (kalau ada rezeki. The responsibility is triple). In fact, i take that as a learning process. And I know he does it for reasons. Unfortunately, i am so-called 'the-one-and-only' who are there and it ends up very bad..huhu. I should not be there because he actually expects someone else to come. So the level of anger become double. I don't know maybe be communication breaks down somewhere and it makes the things worst..huh.

I do admit that I inherit my mom's character a lot. She is a wonderful person. She doesn't talk much and manage to control her anger. To her silent is the best policy. But somehow, when you keep quiet people do not know what are others thinking about theirs. Therefore i would rather being like my father. He is totally different as compare to my mom. He is just an outspoken person. Everything which is not under his satisfaction, he will say it out loud which I think that might give some good or bad effect to him or others. Good if they realize and do some improvement. And bad means u may hurt other people's feeling and eventually create not-so-good relationship afterwards. I am not inherit his character which i wish i can make it one day.

I love my job. But I hate the stupid things happen around me. Macam2 kerenah..huh!

Fine-tuning skills

"...Your 16-month-old may be able to say as many as seven words — or even more — clearly. But she will still rely mostly on nonverbal communication, pointing and gesturing to tell you what she wants or what she wants you to see.

Your toddler understands much more than she can speak. (The challenge for toddlers is not understanding speech, but coordinating their lips and tongue and breath well enough to make themselves understandable.)..."

Article from here.
Noted ;)

Highlight on Muhammad Muaz~~

He does well in terms of pronouncing the simple words like ma-ma, a-bah and ngah (mak ngah). When it comes to atuk, wan and acu, he cant at the moment. Maybe the vocal u is harder to pronounce than a ;) And currently he loves to say iom. I am a bit confused what does iom means? Jom ke cium..haha.

He communicates with his hands very well by pointing to stuff he wants and leading us to things, for instance, showing us his milk, water, biscuits and bread. And also showing us his eyes, nose, mouth and teeth (buat2 gosok gigi)..hehe. When we are in the car, he may also pointing us to vehicles he sees such as cars, buses and lorries and says hee or huu.

He follows instructions as well like wash your hands, take off your shoes and take your bottles.

Irrespective of what he is doing at one time, when i say TIGER he then automatically says AUMMM without looking at me...heheh

Overall, i agree with the statement above. Muhammad Muaz is still rely mostly on nonverbal communication ;)  He may understands what we are saying and still in the process of learning to speak.  Don't worry mama and abah will help you darling. Can't wait to hear thousands of questions from you ;)

Last but not least semoga anak mama sentiasa sihat, ceria dan dilindungi oleh-Nya selalu. Amin~~

Kuasa kereta kecil~~

Saya sangat sayang dengan kereta kecil saya. Dah 4 tahun lebih saya bersamanya. Alhamdulillah setakat ni memang tak pernah ada satu masalah pun dengan kereta kesayangan saya ni. Saya je penah sakitkan badan dia. Dua kali plak tu.

Yang 1st main belasah je masa nak reverse. Berlaga dengan kereta pakcik yang datang umah masa hari raya. Abis remuk redam. Kenalah RM250 nak ketuk balik. Bayar gak ganti rugi kat pakcik tu.

Yang 2nd kat basement parking kat opis. Banyak sangat kereta parking tak tentu hala. Jalan jadi sempit. Saya terpaksa mengimpit kiri. Alih2 tak perasan badan buah hati saya dah bergesel. Habis calar-balar. Sabtu lepas baru abah hantar bengkel kasi repair balik. Kena lak RM500. Kos ni termasuk repair power window kelindan, getah tingkap driver yang dah lama tercabut dan duit minum teh abah..hehehe. Dan skang ni BJE dah kembali seperti baru beli..;) Kilat kau. Abah basuh. Macih.

Yang paling saya suka pasal BJE ni, ia sangat pick up. Tak terkial2 nak masuk parking. Boleh mencelah dengan pantas..hehe. Itulah kuasa kereta kecil. Sangat convenient untuk Muaz  dan saya yang berulang-alik tiap2 hari dari Putr*jaya ke S*ri Kemb*ngan. Penah ada angan2 untuk tukar yang lebih besar. Tapi rasanya belum sampai masa. Tapi kalau nak tukar pun, saya tak akan jual kot kesayangan saya ni. Lagipun, inilah harta pertama saya setelah ada duit poket sendiri. Sayang weh...Harta pertama tapi belum isytihar lagi. Cemana tuh? ;p

YET + The Beginning of 2011

YET : Year End Trips ;)

2010 is over. And we r in d 3rd week of Jan 2011. Time is running out. So, before it's gonna b more n more outdated, let me write bout it.

On d 2nd week of Dec 2010, we attended a wedding ceremony in Sg. Petani (SP). It was my officemate's sister's reception. Since we got lots of house chores nothing to do so we made up our mind to come  to her house. There was a hidden agenda in my mind..hehe. On our way to SP, we stopped for a while at Penang. No shopping at all just having our meal and got some souvenir utk org2 rumah. Actually, its not really a vacation, just a week-end-holiday. Even though time was so limited, yet we still  enjoyed the beautiful beach of Batu Ferringhi. The weather was cold. Luckily, it was not raining when we arrived. Late in the evening we moved to SP and stayed overnight there. The next day would be the reception. And after that we left SP for Putrajaya again. And back to work as usual on Monday....bored ;(

Our next trip was.......the nearest place ever!
Cruise Tasik Putrajaya ;)

I believed some of us had experienced this before. This was my first time. I had never dreamt  to be on the cruise coz the cost was actually too high i think. The actual fee was RM30.00 and RM25.00 if u were Govt. servant. There were six of us excluding Muaz. And roughly the total cost should be RM150. But fortunately it costs us RM90 only which was RM15 per head.  RM60 less than the actual cost. And no charge for Muaz. We bought the tickets earlier during MAHA International 2010 coz they did some promotion there. Since they sold at a reasonable price so why not we tried? One round took about 45 minutes. U'd enjoy the spectacular sights and artistic landmarks in Putrajaya ;)

And our last trip would be Terengganu Darul Iman. A good opening of 2011..hehe. Amik kau musim ujan. Before proceeding to Ganu, we stayed 4 days and 4 nights at my MIL's house. The weather was not good  at the moment and it kept raining during day and night. Especially when we were in Maran. I was thinking to cancel our trip but it happened otherwise. Kira tekad je la sbb tak dgr lagi Ganu banjir masa nih..huhu.

Alhamdulillah..everything ran smoothly. We had such a beautiful and sunny day in KT. No rain at all. Happy me :D. And of coz Muhammad Muaz. Dapat la tengok Masjid Kristal. Tapi laut memang bergelora la. The rain was only pours on our way back home.

Overall, we enjoyed every moments of our trips. Love to plan our next trip and it will be......... ;)

The most joyous and  meaningful vacation. Ditambah dengan Muaz yg dah pandai berjalan ;)

Tukang amik gmbo kata comei dah. Tapi bila tengok gmba abah lak x nmpk kepala..huhu

Tantrums~~

Why your child has temper tantrums

A temper tantrum is the emotional equivalent of a summer storm — sudden and sometimes fierce. One minute you and your child are in a restaurant enjoying your dinner, the next minute he's whimpering, whining, and then screaming at the top of his lungs because his straw is bent. Children between the ages of 1 and 3 are especially prone to such episodes.

Though you may worry that you're raising a tyrant, take heart — at this age, it's unlikely that your child is throwing a fit to be manipulative. More likely, he's having a meltdown in response to frustration. Claire B. Kopp, professor of applied developmental psychology at California's Claremont Graduate University, attributes much of the problem to uneven language skills. "Toddlers are beginning to understand a lot more of the words they hear, yet their ability to produce language is so limited," she says. When your child can't express how he feels or what he wants, frustration mounts.

How to handle a tantrum

Don't lose your cool. A tantrum is not a pretty sight. In addition to kicking, screaming, or pounding the floor, your toddler's repertoire may include throwing things, hitting, and even holding his breath to the point of turning blue. When your child is swept up in a tantrum, he's unlikely to listen to reason, though he will respond — negatively — to your yelling or threatening. "I found the more I shouted at Brandon to stop, the wilder he would get," says one mother of a 2-year-old. What worked instead, she discovered, was to just sit down and be with him while he raged.

Staying with your child during a tantrum is a good idea. Stomping out of the room — alluring as that may be — can make him feel abandoned. The storm of emotion he's going through can be frightening to him, and he'll appreciate knowing you're nearby. Some experts recommend picking up your child and holding him if it's feasible (i.e., he's not flailing too much), saying he'll find your embrace comforting. But others say it's better to ignore the tantrum until your child calms down, rather than rewarding negative behavior. Through trial and error, you'll learn which approach is right for your child.

Remember that you're the adult. No matter how long the tantrum continues, don't give in to unreasonable demands or negotiate with your screaming toddler. It's especially tempting in public to cave in as a way of ending the episode. Try not to worry about what others think — anyone who's a parent has been there before. By conceding, you'll only be teaching your child that throwing a fit is a good way to get what he wants, and setting the stage for future behavior problems. Besides, your child is already frightened by being out of control. The last thing he needs is to feel that you're not in control either.

If your child's outburst escalates to the point where he's hitting people or pets, throwing things, or screaming nonstop, pick him up and carry him to a safe place, such as his bedroom. Tell him why he's there ("because you hit Aunt Sally"), and let him know that you'll stay with him until his negative behavior stops. If you're in a public place — a common breeding ground for tantrums — be prepared to leave with your child until he calms down.

"When my daughter was 2, she had an absolute fit at a restaurant because the plain spaghetti she ordered arrived with chopped parsley on it," recalls one mother. "Although I realized why she was upset, I wasn't about to let her disrupt everyone's dinner. I took her outside until she calmed down."

Talk it over afterward. When the storm subsides, hold your child close and talk about what happened. Acknowledge his frustration, and help him put his feelings into words, saying something like, "You were very angry because your food wasn't the way you wanted it." Let him see that once he expresses himself in words, he'll get better results. Say with a smile, "I'm sorry I didn't understand you. Now that you're not screaming, I can find out what you want."

Try to head off tantrum-inducing situations. Pay attention to what situations push your child's buttons and plan accordingly. If he falls apart when he's hungry, carry snacks with you. If he has trouble making a transition from one activity to the next, give him a gentle heads-up before a change. Alerting him to the fact that you're about to leave the playground or sit down to dinner ("We're going to eat when you and Daddy are done with your story") gives him a chance to adjust instead of react.

Your toddler is grappling with independence, so offer him choices whenever possible. No one likes being told what to do all the time. Saying, "Would you like corn or carrots?" rather than "Eat your corn!" will give him a sense of control. Monitor how often you're saying "no." If you find you're rattling it off routinely, you're probably putting unnecessary stress on both of you. Try to ease up and choose your battles. Would it really wreck your schedule to spend an extra five minutes at the playground? And does anybody really care if your tike wears mismatched mittens?

Watch for signs of overstress. Although daily tantrums are a perfectly normal part of the mid-toddler years, you do need to keep an eye out for possible problems. Has there been upheaval in the family? An extremely busy or harried period? Tension between Mom and Dad? All of these can provoke tantrums. If after the age of 30 months your child is still having major tantrums every day, talk to your doctor. If your child is younger than 30 months and has three or four tantrums a day and isn't cooperating with any routines, such as getting dressed or picking up toys, you also may want to seek help. Your doctor can make sure your child has no serious physical or psychological problems and suggest ways to deal with the outbursts. Also, talk to your doctor if your child has frightening breath-holding spells when he gets upset. There's some evidence that this behavior is linked to an iron deficiency.
